Wednesday Words: It’s the Real Thing…Baby (Week 5)

The LORD said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife shall have a son.” And Sarah was listening at the tent door behind him.  Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in years.  The way of women had ceased to be with Sarah.  So Sarah laughed to herself.(Genesis 18:10-12a)

We all have different reactions to getting a positive pregnancy test.  (My first time was sheer terror and lots (and lots) of tears.  The second time pure joy.) Know that whatever your reaction, however your journey has brought you to this particular moment, it is okay.

It is okay to be a little anxious and it is okay to want to shout it from the  mountain tops.  It is alright to laugh and perfectly normal to cry.

God loves you exactly where you are right now.  He is starting you on a journey that will last a lifetime.

Even Sarah, who laughed at God, was blessed despite her reaction.  God is looking forward to blessing you to!

Mom Tip: Get a journal.  Start it online, in a notebook, in a pregnancy journal…anything!  You only feel this reaction in this way once.  When the time has past you will forget.  Write it down, video it, record it…just remember it.

  1. I laughed when I found out I was pregnant with this one. Pure Joy with Lindsay, scared laughter with Cooper! 🙂
